Education & Design Ideology
Mackensie believes good design starts with an acute sensibility for turning data into immersive visual stories that bridge information and human experience.
At Connecticut College, Mackensie developed an interdisciplinary approach to design through her double major in Art and Architecture, exploring design thinking in an interconnected way.
Honing skills in architectural design, typography, cartography, data visualization, bookmaking, and identity design, Mackensie finds a focal point in design empathy.
This sensitivity to the interchange between human and design has been a cornerstone of Mackensie's education and ideology. In all her work, she explores both how we both shape and are shaped by the designed world. Every project questions how design and design thinking can be more impressionable, more empathetic, more alive.
